1. We know quite a spectrum of Chicago hotels, from a now-defunct Days Inn to luxury convention giant, and this was a great find -- fantastic reservation staff and management, terrific and HUGE room (a 2-bedroom apartment bigger than many condos), and great views of the lake.

5. You have the Louis Vuitton store across the street and all luxury brands side by side on Michigan Avenue within moments walk along with the shops at 900 Michigan, Water tower, Saks, Nordstrom, etc on N Michigan.

Although lacking in luxury accoutrements, this hotel provides a comfortable experience, assisted by friendly and helpful staff, and featuring many helpful amenities, including the impressive free breakfast buffet (although more vegan options would have been welcome), free newspapers and internet access, exercise room, and other services.
