1. They honored our reservation with its Celebrate Chicago package -- free Navy Pier rides, Garrett's popcorn tin, $10 bus card, etc.

4. Can only be used on ONE device (the computer or smartphone that was used to register), so if you want to connect with a second device, you are SOL and will have to either spend another $10, or go to the corner cafe a few blocks away for their free wireless.

The hotel itself is in a prime location downtown, on the doorstep of the shopping district - tickThe staff are knowledgable, friendly, can-do and pro-active - tickThe bar on the roof (29th floor) does a mean martini and the views are fantastic - tickThe rooms are clean, spacious and if you're lucky enough to get a view that's a big bonus BUT what was a let down was the lack of free internet.

8. Gino's East is right next door and the front desk staff will give you a pass that lets you go to the front of the line and get free bread sticks or a salad.

9. We walked to Loyola University Museum of Art (Heaven + Hell exhibition runs 2/10 through 6/30/12), Water Tower Place for shopping and to Navy Pier (Smith Museum of Stained Glass has over 150 pieces and it's free).
