1. Excellent restaurant and bar w fantastic city views (though waitstaff both nights seemed to need a refresher class on how to be polite--hint: it is ok to smile, and when an elderly person is waiting for their coat, don't rush them), nice people at front desk.

2. The bedroom was fantastic a big kingsize bed with plumped up pillows, the bed was extremely comfy.

3. A must is the breakfast in the top of the tower restaurant, we were the only ones up there the morning after we arrived and had the whole place to ourselves, the view is fantastic and if like us you have a cold crisp day the photos from the restaurant walkway were a real 'wow we are in New York' moment.

8. We found a fantastic Chinese restaurant 3 min walk from the hotel called Mee Noodle Shop at 2nd Ave and 49 th St.

9. Also make use of the big Apple greeters to show you around you will need to book this in advance before you arrive on their website, this is a free service with fantastic volunteers, the best way to see the city with a New Yorker.
