1. Rooms can be noisy regardless of what floor you're on and we've been on several but this is New York and those canyons just amplify any noise; nonetheless better windows would help.

2. Downsides are the relatively poor noise insulation of at least my room and the basement level hotel restaurant which is not exactly a cosy place for single travelers who would be better advised to seek other options in the area or order room service.

7. One elevator was out during our stay for 3 days, and all we got was an apology- no room discount offered or anything - overall a 3, but not better than that.
