1. During our stay any problems encountered were dealt with courteously and given a real feel that the staff cared about our experience.

5. Who really cares about the decor all that much when the real advantage of this hotel is its location, Pier 39 and boat tours, etc are just blocks from the front door - while 7 or 8 blocks (easy walk, but up hill) is the charming neighborhood of Little Italy.

7. Mini-fridge in room (stocked with pay as you go items) but the staff invited us to remove those and use as we see fit, careful to instruct us to leave their items 'in plain view' so we wouldn't accidentally be charged for things we didn't consume.
