1. The pool is usually pretty quiet and at least one guest was told not to use a cell phone.

2. After reading reviews on here for weeks, we finally decided that the Wailea Beach Marriot Resort and Spa was the best choice based upon where we wanted to stay (Wailea), the price, the pools, and the type of vacation we were seeking (quiet with more couples and less families).

3. They do have a a beautiful adult serenity pool that is supposed to be very quiet, no kids, but of course you have all the knuckleheads and their iphones and blackberries yacking away and they're on a corporate event so they're getting pretty riled up, but just expect that at a large hotel anyway.

Hotel has a typical Starbucks and a couple restaurants and was mostly quiet and peaceful - yet if you wanted to within a 5 minute walk are the Wailea shops - shops from Tiffany, Gucci Ruth Crist, and some nice galleries, to more affordable stores, plus an ABC store and a 'General Store' where you can stock up on basics like suntan lotions, clothes, snacks and drinks and sandwiches if you want to save a few bucks.
