1. The beach area is not suitable for swimming, but few hotel beaches on Kauai are, and the surf was generally very rough during our stay.

6. There's an easy walk to a mini shopping mall next door (Coconut Marketplace) just past the parking lot where you'll find gift shops, eateries, shave ice, and a small general store.
