1. Hotel is located in a very nice position that allows to walk closely to the Mall and overall Smithsonians' castle and museums.

3. (and get the free DC wifi) Our room wasnt ready as we arrived in the morning so the guy at the reception (Andre Hooker - he is sooooo nice) send us an short and nice email as it were ready - nice service.

4. Especially nice is the Metro station directly under the hotel; you can get to any other station on the lines and the stop is one of several larger hubs that allow line / directional changes.

5. The lobby area is nice and big and contains 3 places to get food: a small coffee place that serves Starbucks; the 'Foggy Bottom' which is like a pub - serving up pub grub plus beer and wine and liquor; and finally the American Grill which serves good dinners and breakfast.

7. Pros:-Close to National Mall-Has Metro Stop-nice lobby-Decently sized roomsCons:-Dated and deteriorating rooms-Unfriendly/unprofessional staff-Mysterious Stains-Limited television-In business district (Limited restaurants/night entertainment)-Nickel and dime-ing-Bed bugs.

8. The mall underneath the hotel is a nice feature but all the restaurants close by 6 or 7pm on a weekday, and even earlier on weekends.

10. However, with the metro being just downstairs we hopped on Sunday morning and went to Ballston stop for IHOP :-) Room was nice and our superior room was an 8 on scale of 1-10.
