9. I think it's really hard for a hotel to get staffing right--great hotels find folks who will be 'at attention' to meet a guest's need, but the best hotels find people who can do that while still maintaining an easy, friendly vibe.

10. I ended up eating all my meals poolside, which probably isn't the best way to judge the hotel's restaurant, but I have to say, everything I tried was outstanding.
