1. It really made our trip special since we did not want to leave, in fact I should probably credit her with the reason my hubby and I decided to extend our stay 4 more days and the only reason we did not stay at the Ritz for that extension was to check out Lahaina and Whaler's village for a comparison for our next visit.

4. We chose the Ritz for two reasons, one, the price for a ocean view room was MUCH better at the Ritz, and secondly we decided to stay at the 4S in Lanai so we wanted to see what the Ritz was like in Maui.

5. The bay area has a concession stand where you can rent snorkeling gear and other equipment, all at a reasonable price.

6. For whatever reason, this room isn't kept cool through air conditioning, so it's a bit of a sweat box.

9. There's probably no rhyme or reason to this, but I felt like the kids we have encountered at other nice resort hotels (Four Seasons, Peter Island, etc.

10. It was also nice to be able to eat offsite -- breakfasts at the Honolua Store were convenient, reasonable, and pretty good.
