2. I had visited the property once before, a few years back when the restaurant on the premises was under different management; I was left with the impression that the hotel looked really cool and fun and I made a mental note to check it out sometime.

3. The roof offers great views of the city skyline and is impressive at dusk with the mountains in the background--it is also a great place to eat or read a book.

8. The first impression, from the exterior, is of an old 70s apartment building with a colorful paint job, but stepping inside, our eyes got a little big and we felt like we'd landed in a cool corner of Hollywood.
