Yes, it's not the *best* location around the Riverwalk, but it's
hardly
all that bad, and frankly, many of the streets of downtown can feel a bit sketchy once you're on street level (the city does an excellent job keeping the riff-raff away from the river level of the Walk itself).

However, it's
hard
to get past the unattractive dark yellow(ing) wall paper and dark stained and high gloss woodwork with scratches and dings in the hallways and room.

Overall, my impression of this hotel is that they are trying very
hard
from the top down to become a 4 star boutique hotel.

What spoilt it for me was an extremely loud horn-like noise that was going off continuously through the night meaning that I
hardly
slept.

This newly renovated property is clearly trying--
hard
--to establish itself as a high-quality, great-value hotel on the Riverwalk.

)The beds were almost exactly life our matress's from our camper, not rock
hard
, not soft and not just right, very little cushioning.

MOST of the staff that we encountered spoke English, but there were a few who were
hard
to understand and one housekeeping maid did not speak English well at all.

Breakfast is continental style (sem huevos), although nutritious (yogurt, fresh fruit, muffins, croissants, peanut butter and the ubiquitous bagel), Espresso is
hard
to find.
