The rooms are very clean and they do not have that old hotel musty feel or
smell
.

Large gap under door allowed you to hear everything in the hallways, plus let the smoke
smell
in that seemed to be very strong each morning after all the partiers had finally gone to bed.

Last but not least, the hotel has a pleasant
smell
(which is difficult to come across in most older hotels in the French Quarter).

The hotel is located directly on Bourbon Street, which can be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on your tolerance for the sights and
smell
s of lots of sweat, booze, and steam.

He then showed me where some of the sewer
smell
was coming from, the pee trap to the sink was off the drain pipe and was draining onto the floor under the cabinet.

We had to keep the doors to the bedroom open to let the sewer
smell
escape.

Side note- there are orange trees in the courtyard and if you go at the right time - that area and the pool area just above will be filled with the sweet
smell
of orange blossoms :) The hotel rooms can be a bit loud, but a pair of earplugs should get even the most sensitive sleepers through the night.
