My room was on that side, and I was able to hear trains rumbling by periodically during the night and we could
smell
the 'hot molten sulfur' in the tanker cars on a siding next to our room for a couple of days.

The hallways were narrow (it is an old hotel) and there was a musty
smell
that I imagine is just from age.

Normally I wouldn't have had much of a problem with this, but the musty
smell
and mold in the bathroom were bad enough to irritate my allergies.

The room had a stuffy
smell
about it, and I don't think that all of my room had been cleaned prior to my checking in because I found a toenail clipping and pieces of hair on the sheets and a used Q-Tip on the floor.
