1. The furniture is outdated oak, the decor is plain and dull, the bed was uncomfortable and the carpet looked dirty and stained.

2. The hotel is decorated throughout in a very understated way from the enormous statues in both the ground floor lobby and 7th-floor reception to the corridors on each floor furnished with side tables, lamps and pictures, so unlike the dull or bland public areas you find in many hotels.
