The window AC is about as good as can be expected from a window unit, (more noise than I like, but not so
noisy
that I can't sleep) and they are controlled by reasonably precise digital thermostats.

The heating system was under the window and very
noisy
and you were either freezing or sweating and the fan ran constantly even though there was an option to turn it off, it didn't work so good.
