1. If you are looking for a great beach, I highly recommend Fort Zachary State park near the southern most point--no big rocks and no seaweed to wade through.

5. The hotel `beach club` was very disappointing, a small piece of Smathers Beach which was muddy-sand that clouded the water so we very soon forgot that and on the recommendation of a local, drove down to Fort Zachary Taylor State Park Beach ($7 for car of 4) which is on the south west tip of the Island and had fantastic clear deep water, with wonderful snorkle opportunities around the rocks.
