3. negatively it is a confusing lay out, designed very strangely, the elevators could not handle a group as large as ours, but Marriot employees were there during our rush hours, herding us about, and even riding the elevators with us to manage the crowd.

5. Although, when we brought our displeasure to the attention of the manager, we were given a beautiful upgraded room which turned a potentially negative experience into a great birthday weekend treat.

7. we stayed at this property for a marine reunion back in 1999-itwas nice but was being renovated-we just stayed again & was so very impressed by all the improvements-simply a glorioushotel & stay-rooms are pretty with wonderful soft beds & linens-ask for a high floor with a river view-great restaurants-we ate atthe riverview & the food was very good-the hotel staff was friendly& they have an outdoor concert area by the river that is open onfriday nights-the only negative to this property is how big &confusing it is to get places-they have lots of signs but its still amaze-this has got to be the only place to stay while in downtowndetroit .
