We almost stayed at the Union Square Hotel, but the cable cars pass at all hours over there and can be quite
noisy
.

Just keep in mind that, without AC, rooms on the street like ours were very
noisy
until the wee hours of the AM and even on cool days/nights we found we had to keep the windows open for comfort.
