1. Each time we took a trolly or bus to get to points of interest, you had to run the gauntlet of people smoking crack on the sidewalk, the homeless asleep on the sidewalk, panhandlers and the smell of urine wafting out of the doorways of beer-joint dives that reeked of pee and Pine-Sol.

2. There are a LOT of homeless people, drug dealers, gang members, people shout at you, whistle, want to sell you stuff, are talking to themselves, are peeing in the street in front of everyone.
