1. There's lots of transport options close by for longer trips, but the hotel is close enough to Chinatown and Union Square to be able to walk in just a few minutes - and we've certainly never felt unsafe in the surrounding area.

3. The hotel is also a 5 - 7 minute walk from Union Square and all the shops which is handy but not great for the credit card :)I was worried about the area that the hotel was in because of its close proximity to The Tenderloin (About 10 minute walk) but we really liked the area and never ever felt unsafe, even at night and we had no issues with walking back late at night.
