1. At first we reserved a king suite, but then when a one queen room was available for our dates of stay, we switched to that, figuring we wouldn't need a sitting room or dining room, we were there to sightsee and might as well pay the lower rate.

2. Some may complain that the furniture/decor is dated, but my theory is I'd rather spend less on my hotel and have that extra money to truly enjoy the city.

4. A summary of the extensive list of faults and deficiencies here: some rooms(mine included) horribly small and cramped, quite old, frayed and dirty appearing carpet, uncomfortable and cheap beds and bedding, dirty grout and caulking in all rooms, loud noise from streets, poorly informed and motivated maintainence staff, poorly functioning air-conditioning (a biggie if you know Midwestern summers), very dated and partly malfunctioning appliances (my lamp had to be 'turned off' by unplugging it from the wall as directed to me by maintainence with no attempt to replace or repair this problem), and best of all.
