1. Unfortunately our first impression of the hotel was bad as our room stank of smoke even though it was a non smoking room.

4. With that said, my last experience at another hotel in SoHo was so bad I decided to return to 60 Thompson as I was very impressed the first time I stayed there, and likewise this time around.

5. Despite this the hotel had booked our room out prior to our arrival (we suspect at a higher rate - such bad karma) but instead of apologies/explanations attempted to pile on attitude and convey that we should feel lucky we could book another inferior room - you guessed it - at a higher rate.
