The room was very worn, dated and I agree with the previous comments about dirty wrinkly carpets, everything about the 'suite' was tired and
shabby
.

The Beekman Tower Hotel is a moderately-priced (for NYC), somewhat
shabby
, hotel located on the East Side of Manhattan near the United Nations on the corner of First Avenue.

While it may be 'budget' for NYC--at nearly $200/night--this hotel is a
shabby
excuse for even 'low-cost' accommodations.

We were happy to trade the location and room size for the
shabby
decor and tired carpets.

We've stayed at the Beekman many times over the years and have always overlooked its air of
shabbi
ness because we liked the size of the rooms and the genteel feel of the hotel; it's always reminded us of a big but unfancy New York apartment.

Plumbing is a problem and the overall
shabbi
ness makes the hotel substandard.
