Note: the nearby Tenderloin district apparently does have a bad reputation, but is not on the way between the hotel and Union Square, which will be the daily route for most travellers, so it is easily

We didn't realise how strict parking restrictions were and, within three minutes, managed to narrowly
avoid
being towed but still incurred a $75 parking citation.

Stopped into the Fairmont and a few big names around Union Square, and am thankful we
avoid

The street noise is considerable, and goes well into the early morning hours - therefore if quiteness is a consideration,
avoid
the rooms facing Geary.

The hotel room was clean, staff was friendly, bed was firm and comfy, we stayed on the 7th floor on Taylor St side to
avoid
the street noise and it was reasonable, so 6th floor would be ok too, but
avoid
the alley and Geary St .

Be sure to check this beforehand, as it was barely big enough to walk around the canopied bed and
avoid
hitting the huge armoire.
