Finally after about my fourth call to the front desk to complain/ask for something else to be taken care of in the room (after taking a quick trip to the pool to look around, we arrived back at the room to find a maintenance man repairing the refridgerator and safe), I went back to the front desk and explained that we were here for a special occassion and that this room was providing us with anything but.

7. I have heard more than a few angry guests complaining about their room not being ready to check-in and the room type not being honored per their reservation.

8. But when we complained we were relocated in a nice ocean view room the next day - that room was also quite small but had such a great view - I loved it.

9. Having complained and having been told that 'the construction was not the problem of the hotel', we cut our stay short and moved to the Mandarin Oriental which was so much better, although it is obviously not on South Beach.
