1. My only gripes about this hotel were the newspaper delivery person who insisted on slamming the complimentary newspapers down in front of each door at 4:30am every morning (very noisy guy) and the awful bacon smell that wafts up occasionally from the Eggs and Things on the ground floor.

2. The shower curtain smelled of mildew and the bathroom tiles did not appear to have been cleaned in quite some time.

4. They put us on the 3rd floor in a room that did face the ocean but also gave us a birdseye view of the McDonald's restaurant (next door) airconditioning unit along with the strong smell of fast food.

I personally was really impressed with the history of the hotel and we really appreciated the little extras more than anything - really incredible shower soap, wonderful smelling lotion, the cute little fish next to the sink which we kept to remember our stay with, and the great seperate shampoo and condition.

6. take in the sights, sounds and smells - chill out in steady 80 degree temps, then sit on your lanai in the PM and watch the waves.

8. My only complaint was that our room did smell damp/moldy or mildewy when the air was turned off and the lanai door was closed.

9. The smell did improve over the week however, and we did enjoy the sunny balcony with spectacular views and the short walk across the street to the beach.

10. This might be why our room had a large wet patch on the carpet adjacent to the bathroom which smelled rotten and mouldy.
