1. After a few days of this, interspersed with promises to fix the problem, the maintenance man spent a half hour in the room trying to fix the lock, unsuccessfully.

The only problem we had was that the cable went out in the room the 2nd day we were they and they were unable to fix it, so they upgraded us at no charge to us to the best room in the hotel on the 10th floor with a corner room with windows on both sides and also gave us a portable fridge in the room too.
