1. The best part of this hotel is that it's connected to the mall across the street and to the fabulous Metro subway system via underground passage ways so you don't need to go outside to catch the train.

At first glance, the cost per night seems steep, but on the other hand, the price covers a mammoth buffet breakfast, sleeping quarters for up to five people, evening happy hours, a kitchenette suitable for preparing simple meals, having a sitting room AND bedroom, and a supremely convenient location (right atop a pleasant shopping centre, across the street from another shopping centre with a cinema, above the Friendship Heights Metro station, near a Giant supermarket and the superb Potomac Pizza, and near many bus lines).

8. One note: they are building a new store across the street on the Galleria side of the hotel and they begin work at 7:00 am.

9. Contrary to some posings I`ve seen here about keeping out of the way of surly commuters, we got some good advice from some of our fellow triain passengers as to which stop would get us to the Archives and even which street to take to get to the correct entrance.
