3. Besides the obvious perks of this chain for family travel-two rooms, microwave, mini fridge, cooked to order breakfast, manager's nightly reception-this hotel enjoys a prime location in an upscale shopping mall with a Cheesecake Factory for great dinners and a CVS for stocking up on waters, snacks, and incidentals.

10. The hotel itself is spectacular--we had adjoining suites (it turned out we had the corner suite, the biggest one, though we never thought to ask for it) with a fabulous view inside and out--rooms open onto balconies overlooking the atrium to a 3-story mall (Chevy Chase Pavilion) where we could eat dinner and shop.
