3. The room decor is a contradiction--newer carpet, drapes, toilet, shower curtain, shower head (no towel bar) but cheap, outdated furniture and TV, painted brick walls, dark wood beam ceiling -- and a grayish white comforter on the bed that looked a little worn.

Good points - very good pool and hot tub, nice grounds, quite quick and easy to get into centre of Santa Barbara, very comfortable bed, large roomNot so good points - room decor was tired and old-fashioned and room had a bit of a smell when you walked in, check-in staff were not very friendly or helpful, breakfast room crowded and overflow room was rather tatty.

5. One of the previous reviews mentioned an IKEA-like decor and I would agree with them BUT I liked the simple design plus I really liked that the linens and shower curtain were all white.
