told us he 'wouldn't charge us a penalty to cancel' and simply offered to make a reservation for us at another hotel - which, to him, didn't seem to be a big deal.

that the jack hammering was causing severe headaches (and we had only been there for 15 minutes), he said, 'yes, it would bother me too'.
