1. Staff at front desk were particularly unhelpful and disinterested but the other bar staff/cleaning were all very jovial.

3. The bar has a happy hour in the evenings M-F and a curious 10 pm to midnight one seven days a week, and serves good sushi (the salmon sashimi, which I tried, was very good, and generously supplied).

To sum up: the Hanalei Crowne Plaza is in a great location in Hotel Circle, really convenient to all the major SD attractions, has a nice pool area, a nice bar/sushi restaurant, great and friendly staff, AND you get to look at and appreciate some old tikis who have been on the property since probably before you were born.
