1. A large shopping center with plenty of restaurants and a Vons supermarket is across the street, a really nice park with waterfowl acts as a backyard for the hotel (and there's some more food on the other side of the park, including dim sum and a Denny's), and the staff is always cheery.

2. GPS note: If you have an older GPS it won't list this street because it's somewhat new, so search for the intersection of Rancho Bernardo Road and Bernardo Center Drive.
