2. There are hotels closer to the airport but we got a great rate (less than $100) with free shuttle to and from hotel.

3. Staff is outstanding, including the front desk staff, airport shuttle drivers, wait staff in restaurant, etc. Restaurant provided tasty, large portions at reasonable prices for dinn; breakfast buffet was extensive and delicious and included in room rate.

4. I was surprised to see some comments about not leaving a tip; come on people, after all, for the great rate AND free breakfast why would anyone opt NOT to.

This will not be the case for every guest being able to know how to do this so if you really want the wifi for more than 1 device or to use your phone (iphone, Blackberry etc) I would recommend confirming with the hotel that you can get a decent signal in the room you will be staying in :)Altogether I would rate this hotel as a very good 3 star/maybe 4 star.

9. We had stayed here several years ago and had a positive experience, so when we needed to be in the San Diego area again we checked the Bay Club Hotel web site and I found a very reasonable rate .

10. I stayed with a business group and booked on Orbitz but someone else in my party called the hotel directly and received a better rate.
