1. We like to stay on the river but given a city view room in a hotel right on the river was running over $300 per night (before tax) the $159 rate at the Residence Inn became very attractive.

2. At the Tower of Americas you get a panoramic view of the San Antonio area, but around San Antonio there is not much to see.
