1. San Antonio is kind of strange like thjs - lots of activity on the Riverwalk, but the streets are desolate.

2. The hotel/valet company took care of everything (beyond my expectations) but sure enough a month later a friend parks across the street and we go have a few beers and he's suffered the same consequence of parking his car outside and had a bag full of important files (to him and no one else) stolen.

3. They raised the price on day 2 of our stay to $10, though (for the marathon), but there is free street parking on Sundays.

4. You have the option to use a lot across the street, but I felt better about leaving our rental car in an enclosed garage, so we opted for that.

5. Stopped also in Austin, Walked the famous Sixth street and ate at the Iron Cactus which offers good Tex Mex fare.

7. I had a rental car and used the hotel`s $12 parking for one night and parked for free on the street (from 6pm-8am and Sunday is no charge at all) with no problems.

9. I don't think this hotel explains well enough just how convenient it actually is: a short block to the back of the Alamo which is also across the street from River Center on the River Walk.
