1. During the day, we had no qualms whatsoever about the area and were pleased to see lots of police presence on both Houston and Commerce Street.

7. They also have an overflow parking lot if their lot just across the street is full (we always found an open parking spot).

8. Parking is conveniently located across the street for $10/day, be advised however to choose a spot in the center of the lot which allows you to pull thru or back out lest you be blocked in.

9. But if your expecting to be down the street from the Riverwalk, you definitely are, but you are another 10 to 15 minute walk from the restaurants and be prepared to be stopped by homeless people on the way.

10. We observed a very dodgy couple of street people pawing through the dumpster next to the hotel -- obviously homeless people reside in the near vicinity -- these are exactly the type of person you do not need to run into on your vacation.
