Yes, the valet parking is expensive, as it is at just about any big-city,
downtown
hotel anywhere.

downtown

I've been to 10 or so hotels in the
downtown
NOLA area (in the Quarter, CBD, Garden District, etc).

Parking is only by valet, and the fee is a bit steep ($30) but that's pretty standard in
downtown
hotels in major cities.

You can walk to the French Quarter in about 20 - 25 minutes, slightly less to the riverfront/
downtown
area, but the walk is safe and secure.

The only real negative was the $30 valet parking charge, but this was to be expected given the
downtown
location of the hotel.

Quite central,
downtown
is only 5 minutes walk away, or a short cab ride.
