1. Our stay at Hampton Inn on Carondelet is certainly one we will highly recommend but ask for a room away from the road if you are sensitive to street noise.

3. If you are mainly going to stay in the Quarter on your trip, I would recommend NOT renting a car and take a $33 cab ride (each way) from MSY and walk or take the trolley around the city.
