1. As others have posted here besides the hotel's restaurant there is eating establishments within walking distance.

(3) In the land of 'car is king', this hotel is perfectly located right off the interstate for easy access to anywhere (except during rush hour when you can walk as fast as you drive)(4) Complementary wine in the evenings is really nice, though don't expect a social scene, guests generally drink a glass or two in their own corner, then head back up or out.

3. Although there aren't any restaurants within walking distance, the hotel does offer a complementary shuttle that will take you anywhere within a 3 mile radius.

8. The valet parking is really annoying as you have to pay tip and wait every time you go out and you really need a car for pretty every trip although we found a nice Starbucks and coffee shop in a center 15 minutes walk away so we went there and did not bother with the overpriced breakfast.

9. It is well located for visiting the Getty Centre, which is great, but there are no coffee shops or restaurants within walking distance, so a car is essential, or you would be trapped into eating in the hotel which is a bit expensive.

The location is not within walking distance of much, but if you need to see a lot of the westside, it is relatively close to more - Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, not too bad to get to downtown or the airport - a great spot for seeing art galleries in major areas like the Getty, Bergamot Station, Culver City, etc. The service started out pleasant and typical for a Joie de Vivre hotel, but when our four-year-old got food poisoning at a Dodger game, we got a lot of extra-special help and support, from housekeeping particularly.
