2. Since I was there for a leisure visit with my son, the UCLA rocket scientist student, I had a crazy schedule and their housekeeping staff was wonderful about the odd hours.

The location is not within walking distance of much, but if you need to see a lot of the westside, it is relatively close to more - Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, not too bad to get to downtown or the airport - a great spot for seeing art galleries in major areas like the Getty, Bergamot Station, Culver City, etc. The service started out pleasant and typical for a Joie de Vivre hotel, but when our four-year-old got food poisoning at a Dodger game, we got a lot of extra-special help and support, from housekeeping particularly.

8. Cons:Housekeeping disregarded a simple request left in a clear & concise note (though they received the note, as it was gone when I returned to the room) The shower curtain was dingey & the shower knob was loose & I was concerned it might fall off as the water was turned on.

9. Of special note, I had left some fine jewelry in the safe (including a family diamond pendant) and Anna, head of housekeeping, and her staff returned it to me safely.
