1. The enthusiastic owner/manager has a gift for hospitality, and is providing a comfortable stay at a below-market price by sticking to the quality basics instead of trying to be glamorous and 'posh.

5. As the ever-friendly manager Greg says, if you walk one way you've got all the madness of muscle beach one way and if you walk the other, it's mardi gras every night - add this to the (amazing) fact that it's a quiet hotel with views over the ocean and (for the area) an excellent price.

7. The price was very reasonable for the great location, right along the ocean front bike/pedestrian paths and steps away from the ocean itself, but far enough away from the really loud part of Venice`s beachfront to be tranquil and lovely.
