1. No real amenities like a gym or pool but like i said, a great base and good service.

2. We spent the next 3 nights at the Sofitel down the street which was REALLY nice, with pool, gym, spa, and on-site restaurant / nightclub, but you'll pay 20-30% more on any given night.

3. Sure, there's no pool or overpriced coffee shop attached, but the appointments to one's comfort have been carefully thought out.
