2. The Houston Center (across the street) seems to offer some decent choices for eating (even a book store I wanted to take the kids to, get out of the rain, etc.) but the hours are very limited on the weekend - nothing open on Sunday at all.

3. Plus, the Shops directly across the street (which can be reached via the skybridge from the hotel), and the Phonecia Foods market a block away provide a nice place to grab last-minute items or treats like Starbucks and a selection of restaurants if you aren't in the mood for a pricey meal or are in a hurry.

4. I loved being able to pop across the street to The Phonecian for a snack or bottle of wine, shop in the nearby retail stores, and listen to great music at the House of Blues, all without having to walk more than a block.

5. I strolled around along 6 lane streets and finally found some sort of nice area, with a street that had a trolley bus running through it, a Starbucks and a bookstore, but that was it.
