1. Because it is connected to a large casino, there is ample free parking, but you either need to walk along the outside of the building or through the smoke filled casino to go from the self-parking garage to the hotel.

3. Starting with the free valet parking (or free self parking as I chose to do), through the check-in process, to the private 'living room' for hotel guests, going to the MGM Grand reminded me of Las Vegas in every possible way.

4. The only other parking option would be casino self-park, which is across the entire complex, and you are not allowed to drag your luggage through the casino.

5. Everything from not giving clear guidance on parking, to the hour-long wait for check-in, to the bouncers for the residence area treating us like a bunch of teenagers, to the trashed bathrooms in the casino area.

7. Self parking is available, but it is as far away from the hotel as you can be and other than saving a few dollars in tips I`m not sure why anyone would use it over the valet.
