1. Everyone I spoke to, from the Valet to the doorman to the concierge to the bellhop to the engineering guy (more on that later) to the room service guy were a delight to deal with in every regard.

3. The Sunday brunch at Iron Cactus was better than expected (and a great deal at around $14 a person, I think it was), and we ate a pricey but excellent foodie lunch at the Dallas Fish Market (less than a block from the hotel) and LOVED it.
