1. I thought the neighborhood was beautiful - a huge gorgeous church across the street and plenty of beautiful architecture all around.
"I hope they never renovate! " Read full review on TripAdvisor   8/25/2011 Vote
2. It is easy to find good places to eat and have a beer walking distance from the hotel (Sacha`s Bar is the best and it`s on Charles St very close to Peabody conservatory, and there are also good options for bars like Brewer`s Art and Grand Central -the latter gay- both in the same street) The hotel is an old mansion, with a lobby/parlor, where there is a small counter.
"A pleasant surprise " Read full review on TripAdvisor   8/2/2007 Vote
3. The staff was friendly, and although they were willing to gives us directions multiple times, they didn't really include street names so bring your GPS.
"Bargain Hunters - yes/Perfectionists - no " Read full review on TripAdvisor   4/4/2012 Vote
4. The lobby is a flight up from the street and the rooms start above that.

5. Parking at the hotel is only available on the street and it can be hard to find a space at night since residents have priority, but if you find a space, stay in it and walk around.
"A warm, shabby chic gem in Baltimore! " Read full review on TripAdvisor   11/24/2011 Vote
6. We're walkers so we walked down Charles street and explored the restaurants on our way down to the inner harbor.

7. Room itself wasn't too bad (good exercise getting to 4th floor walk-up, but no fun with the luggage), nice view of church across street, but was rather shabby.
"Disappointing: far from Inner Harbor, bit shabby, neighborhood iffy. " Read full review on TripAdvisor   7/6/2009 Vote
8. The hotel is a short trip off the I-83 on West Madison Street near the Maryland General Hospital.

9. A lot of construction is happening in the area as many older buildings are being renovated, as well as the streets.

10. He was quite familiar to the neighborhood, so it was not a surprise the convenient location of this hotel, 2 or 3 streets from Charles St.
