1. Mount Vernon hotel is not center of the baltimore you have to walk but there are free shuttles from center to hotels door.

Free hot breakfast (eggs, bacon, and sometimes french toast, biscuit and gravy, pancakes), free WIFI, free service for accepting parcels (fancier hotels charge like $10 a box, and this important for those who need this service) and a free shuttle bus nearby that takes you to the Baltimore Convention Centre.
