1. As we had booked through a third party, we were not eligible for a refund, so when we returned to check out on the last day of our stay, we found that the room had been rerented, despite the fact that we had not checked out.

2. However, after pleading my case with a very helpful and friendly voice over the phone, it was determined that if the room rented then my money would be refunded ($500+ per night).

3. I received a call from the Hotel Aspen - the same friendly guy who helped me in the first place letting me know they had been able to rent the room and were refunding my money in full.
